quick reply needed: This 300 ohm transformer you speak of, your thinking my antenna has the twin leads? The small flat leads? My antenna wire is a coxial cable (round)

Right, the transformer is not needed.

From my experience coax will not pick up any signal, you need flat paired wire to get a signal.
