Hi guys,

I was thinking about getting the 72 chevy truck single pass heater core and mount it on the top of my case (on the outside) I was thinking about putting 2x 24v comair rotron fans at 12 v on the inside of the case to push air thru the radiator. The only problem is creating a shroud for the fans. I am using all four of my 5.25" trays and after the fans there probably wont be enough room for a 2" thick shroud. Can you guys tell me a better mounting mechanism or a way to create a shroud somehow?

Also do I even need a shroud? since these fans push a lot of air and they will blow thru two blow holes?

Tell me I eventually plan to run a 226w tec for my processor and a 80w one for my gpu.

Thanks for your time.

Well i would DEFINATLEY use a shroud, even if the fan's moove alot of air, directly on the heatercore they arn't gonna do a whole lot, and if you dont have any room for a shroud on the inside, you could always make a nice plexi one to fit your fans on the outside (top) of the case like the Koolance setups. and then maybey put some LED's in it to make it look nice :D

ok then it seems like the chevy 72 truck is a bust. Does anyone know of any other single pass heater cores about 7" or so? if not, would a 71/2" chevy camero heater core be enough for a cpu and gpu block?

-Thanks

I would put the fans on top of the rad inside of under(inside the case) and use the fans to push the air in.

I do realize that this will disrupt the flow of the case, but the important thing is getting cool air to your HC and it seems like you dont have any space to mouny it somewhere else.

I think as long as you have some fans on the back of the PC it should be fine...

The Chevette heatcore is the perfect size for me. I took out 1 of my harddrive bays and it fit perfectly. You can also make a nice, cheap tupperware shroud for it.
