My daughter is building a new gaming PC and I've been out of the game for years. The budget is around £1500 but value is important. It is purely for gaming (no specifics to give here), 1080p for now, maybe 1440p in the near future. It has been some time since I've been on here, actually lost my old logins so apologies if I've missed a similar post. Anyway, I've put a build together based on various videos and Reddit posts etc.

Just need to know if it is worth it for at least 6/7 years with minimal upgrades or if I should be looking at Ryzen 9000 (not read any reviews thus far that praise it all that much). Also, know F-all about motherboards but reliable with wifi and some upgrade room would be great that's why I'm aiming for am5.

Welcome back! What was your old screen name? We can get you into it......... :)

I think you're fine on the 7600X. If its a pure gaming machine, you may want to think about the 7800X3D. That said, you'll be fine with 7600X. I like the 4070 Ti for 1080p/1440p gaming for the next few years, yep.

My memory is not what it was, can't even remember my old email. It all only came back to me when someone recommended posting here :D . OK yea the 7800X3D appears to be the main recommendation, I'll shop around for cheaper parts where possible and try slot that in. No issues with the board?

Naa, the board is fine. I wouldn't go any less on any other parts, honestly. You can also get the 7600X now and maybe drop in a 9000 series X3D chip in year or two (and likely not have to touch it again before a full upgrade).

I like everything but the heatsink and GPU.

https://www.amazon.com/Thermalright-Peerless-Assassin-120-Cooler/dp/B09LGY38L4?th=1 I would suggest a Peerless Assassin over Hyper 212 as it has better mounting and better performance.

At $800 US that GPU is not a great value UNLESS she is playing mostly Ray Tracing games. AMD is just a few weeks away from launching their new RX 8800 and its expected to have a massive RT improvement and should end up around $550us. Also if she is gaming at less than 1440p I would suggest an AMD 7800 XT and pocket the savings.
