I'm trying to follow the wiring diagram here:

I have some questions:
1) How do you know which wire of the parallel cable is which? Which wires correspond to which numbers on that wiring schematic?
2) On the G2446 there is already a power hookup, so there are 2 power hookups then? The diagram tells me to hook up power. Is the power wire that is already attached to power the backlight? and the one i'm going to solder on is to power just the lcd?
3) Where do the grounds go to in that diagram?
