I have a tualatin 1.2gig i have managed to get it to 1.4gig thats running at 117fsb, and the memory at 150fsb (on jetway boards you can and 33mhz to the memory speed), i dont think its the memory because its decent crucial stuff and i have heard people have got 155fsb+ out of it, and i dont think is my network card as thats a decent 3com one, it aint me temps either cos there 30*c CPU (under load) and 28*c Case (under load), check my web site for full system spec please help me get more out of this :)

Thanks in advance!

1) Try to increase the vcore so that you can o\c some more.
What is your vcore now at this point?

2)If your mobo doesnt have vcore adjustment...
then use the wire-trick method.

3)You are wrong about the memory speed.
The +33mhz takes effect only when the fsb speed is 66 or 100

So in your case now...it doesnt mean that when you choose the
+33mhz option....your memory works @117+33=150mhz

Its running at the default vore (1.55)

In the bios it says the ram is running @ 150 fsb and sandra clocks it at 150!

How do i do the voltage mod then is there a onlin guide thats really easy to do!

and i have heard people have got 155fsb+ out of it
the "people" in question would be singular...that's ol' man...you will never be able to get 155FSB out of you chip like he does...his mother was human, his father was a computer god, so he's like an immortal or something...

most humans get around 1.5-1.6 with the 1.2a...all those tA1's seem to top out about there. Run your mem at normal speeds, take out the network card, and do a burn-in on the chip for a few days (after you wire trick it for more voltage). Then try jacking it up to a stable point. Add your network card and see if it's still stable. Then play with your RAM timings.

there is a sticky at the top of this forum that deals w/ volt modding the Tualatin...

Voltage wise you can only go as high as mine is now..and you should be safe there as long as you can keep your chip cool.

I'm messing around with a 156w peltier right now trying to get the most that I can out of my chip. Cooling the CPU seems to be the main hold back..and I suspect the cooling on my greenie needs to be improved...she says 37C as I type..cpu says 19C full load. cpu currently at 133FSB = 1615mhz I think its stable. My Hard drives want to crash and I'm getting system freezes possibly form my greenine not doing it's job well...I'm going to try throwing a old Pentium HSF on that and go at this some more.

but for you..voltage wise go for all you can..and keep it under 40C if you can. I found that when i was with out the peltier I would start to crash at temps above 42C and my chip was only at 130FSB = 1560 I think and 1.75v. That was with straight water cooling.

I think you just summed up the overclocking secret of the tA1...if the temps are kept right, this thing will fly...from the 1.0a up ;)

davesalisburyuk, if you use a real thin wire (like from an old IDE cable) and take your time, this is a relatively simple mod, and as long as you wrap it where it doesn't contact any other pins, you should be safe to reach 1.7...

Is there much of a risk that i will Feck me chip up doing this wire trick if there is tell me and i wont do it!

Dont be afraid.
There is always a first time for everything.
Just take your time and move on slowly and with caution.

Here follows a small guide...with pics

Ok...you must connect the VID1 + VID2 (blue + purple)
You take a thin piece of wire....and connect in "8" shape those two pins

and this is the back side of your celly.....just to be sure about the pins.
If i'm correct....this will give you a new default vcore of 1.675

At idle, mines at 39-40C (mostly 40C). Under load it jumps to about 43/44C with the SK-6. Stable as all hell so far. This is with 5 Sunon 50cfm 80mm case fans. (I think the Radeon adds a lot of heat to the mixture).

Also seems that 1.75V causes things to go a little screwy with mine. I think ol man has seen the same thing with his chip.

What's the specs on your chip, Dave? (country of manufacture and all that)

The chip was bought in England, i did the wire trick and have set the default voltage to 1.80 only problem now is that i need a new PSU :), cos im running this on a 200w, so im going to invest in a good 350w
