I have a $100 gift card to Microcenter.

I want a 4k monitor for productivity, but will have to scale down to 1080 for gaming to due to GFX card pricing and staying with my EVGA 1080

don't want curved

I don't play FPS much anymore, so anything over 60hz is good enough, almost all 4k monitor that support free synch and stuff are 120hz anyway.

I currently have a dell ultrasharp 1440 and hate how it scales to 1080p for gaming. It also has no gaming features such as free sync and is maxed at 60hz refresh. With that said it looks fantastic for productivity work and 3d printing modeling.

I have a 1080 GFX card until prices come down, but the goal would to eventually spend some money (under $400) on a gfx card that can play cyberpunk and some other titles at 4k to make full use of monitor.

Here are all 4k monitor that microcenter has, having looked at them at store I am learning towered Acer models. I wish Micro Center had a dell 4k gaming monitor. They usually did in past. I am in no hurry, so might wait, I am a dell fanboy.

Microcenter location is 66212

Thank you.

Makes sense...you can't make 1080p out of 1440. However, 4K to 1080 looks much better (though there's still a noticeable loss of image quality what was on 1 pixel is now on 4).

What's your budget?

EDIT: After looking at your link (FYI, you'll have to manually enter the zip code as it defaults to 'yours'.... I'd say go 32". 4K @ 28", to me, is too small for the res. You're likely already going to have run 150% scaling (at work I'm literally using 4K 28" and there's no chance my 48 y.o eyes can see at 100%). So I'd suggest 32" as you can do more in the real estate.

This would be my choice (32") - https://www.microcenter.com/product...-32-4k-uhd-(3840-x-2160)-144hz-gaming-monitor

I have a 27" 1080p monitor at work. If I set the zoom function on chrome web browser to 25% (1/4) . Would that be how small a 100% would be on 4k?

If so, that is so small and a total waste on a 4k monitor at 27 inches. Might just go 1080 monitor for home use. 32 is to big for what I want at home. 24-27" inches is the size I am wanting. As long as it looks nice I don't need to spend more than I need.

Guess there is a reason 1440 is the sweet spot for 24-27" monitor. My only gripe is playing some games at 1440 is not doable without dropping half a grand on a graphics card.

Somehow I got into the thought that 4k monitor was my answer to also play at 1080, but at 27" I would have to scale up to 1440 basically to read anything. Soooo might as well just get a gaming 1080 or 1440 monitor to at least help with screen tearing / vsync issues. Then still plan on waiting for 9070 or something to drop in price to $400 on day.

But.... you're going to eventually get a better gpu. I'd go 1440 if 32" 4k is too big.
