Well it seems like tomorrow will be a big day for my friend, hes upgrading from a aging AMD 3500+ & integrated ATI X200 to this setup below that I helped him choose:

Prices are in Canadian. From NCIX,
please don't suggest ordering parts from newegg since it has to be bought instore.

Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium 64BIT OEM DVD with Windows 7 Upgrade Offer ($154.33)

Config ($50.00)

Total: $997.08

Feedback on weather this is a good combination of parts and if everything checks out to be fairly good quality, or any alternate suggestions. Is much appreciated, Thanks.

His budget was a $1000.

He didn't want to go for the 4870 because its more expensive and probably within a while after the 5000 ATI series gets settled in he may pick one of them up.

Oh and I assume the PSU is more than enough, it got good reviews just wondering what you guys think of it.

Oh and this system is supposed to be for gaming.

I think it's a great system for what he wants it to do. How much more is Vista Ultimate where you are compared to Vista Home Premium? I think OCZ would be a safe choice on the psu.

EDIT: Are you going to OC that thing? CPU cooler?
