I have an old SOck7 system at 166 mHz.
My sound card was working just fine b efore, until I had to format and reload the win 98. I have done all the updates and everything, but the comp wont recognize the card. It does show up in Dev Manager and is working properly

- ES1868 Control Interface (WDM)
- ES1868 Plug and Play AudioDrive (WDM)

I have removed, refreshed and done everything I can with the card. I have even reinstalled some of the multimedia settings from my Windows Setup. I have no sound volume controller... when I run sound recording it says that I have no audio hardware. WHen I click on Multimedia in my control panel, it doesn't recognize it... not there!!!//????? why is that??? what is wrong with my soundcard?? It was working just fine before. and like I said, "the dev manager says it is working properly.. sigh.... :(

You will have to reinstall the device drivers again. That could be a problem finding them online if the motherboard is really old.

Do you have the motherboard driver disc? The audio drivers would be on that.

I don't have the diskl... it is an ISA slot card... and the thing is it was working fine before... the system even says so... but it's not... grrrrr...
