Help The Cripple out Please... lol

I have the Asus A7N8X dlx. I have a dvd-rom and dvd-r drive. I am going to be using the onbaord sound. Do I have to connect the audio out to anything on the dvd-rom and dvd-rw drives? They are connected with the dvd-rw as master and the other as slave. Please help me i'm too tired to think..

You will need to connect the sound cable to one of the drives if that's what you're getting at. I don't believe it matters which one if I remember correctly. Please somebody correct me if I'm wrong.

So, unless you are incorrect, if I connect the sound cable to the dvd-rw drive, and I put a cd in the dvd-rom, I should still hear sound?
