Help windows wont boot!

hi all i just use partition magic to format my C drive...but windows was installed on D, i dont know why but windows skrewed up with the drive lettering.. anyways i think my boot sector was on that drive (is that what its called?) anyways windows wont boot by itself anyway and i was owndering if there was a way to fix this?i am running Windows XP Pro.

By default, windows expects to be found on C:. I dont know how you'd switch the drive letters :confused:
 
Reinstall would be the best thing to do....and quit playing with Partition Magic :D....sorry, couldn't resist.

reinstall is the only thing to do, partition magic obviously gave you a warning about it, you can't format the c: if you want windows to work.
 
i agree... a reinstal of XP is best, but if you already have t on D: then you can just update that installation by installing over it agan, so boot form a cdrom and run install then install to D: and your C: will remain blank minus the master boot record... So on your C: you'll see a recycling bin and maybe command.com or autoexec.bat that will be all
