I just bought a 200gb and want to setup partitions. I did some searches and read several different articles until I was fairly confident. I went to install winxp and when it came to screen to partion it showed that I had 130720mb unpartitioned space. The installation guide says that you need to have winxp with at least sp1 to go above 137mb. My win xp upgrade does not have either. Is that why? Also can I use someone elses cd that has sp2 to install and use my cd key?
Any help would be appreciated.

If it's the same type of disk (Full, Upgrade, or generic MS OEM) as yours is, then YES you can use your key... if it's a different type, then NO. Why not just download SP2 and create a slipstreamed install disk? You can find the instructions on slipstreaming SP2 in the following sticky...

Slipstream SP2 the easy way.....
