I just blew out my 3 pin connectors for all of my fans on my A7V. I could warranty the board but I'll be out of a motherboard for a month. Is there a workaround or a fix to this problem. Has anyone else ever blown out ther 3 pin connectors before.

Global Win ships an adapter with the WBK38, along with "strongly" reccomending that you use it, so I would think that if you are having a problem with the RPM's dropping, you may need to look at your power supply.

BTW, how are you monitoring the fan speed without using the onboard sensor?

The motherboard supplies 12V. Mine has a max amps of 350mA or less (4.2 watts) I doubt very much that a fan turning 7000rpm is below 500mA (should be on the sticker in the middle of the fan.)

The PS provides both a 5V and a 12V source with the 3-pin adapter being hooked up to the 12V source....so as frank says if it isn't turning fast enough the prob is probably the PS. 8)

Oh yeah, I have read of several others blowing the fan headers before.

I have just got my A7V back from RMA, cuz all my fan connecters stopped working. I don't know how I did it, I was just changing my fans, and then they all stopped working. Do u know how u did it?
Well, now i've got a new board, so I'm happy. I think u should RMA yours too.

Could you tell me how long it took asus to process your RMA. Asus told me it would be up to 3 weeks once they recieved it. I realy don't know what happened to my board. I was changing a heatsink and fan and poof, all the pin connectors stopped working.

They said that it could take 3 weeks, and it almost did. It took 2 weeks and 5 days before I got my A7V back.
Did ur board say pooff when it happened? Mine didn't say anything....
