Help with Far Cry lockup!

I just got Far Cry in today! Great game, except mine locks up whenever the helocopter gets near me, or when one of the trucks start up! Any ideas on this? I have the resolution at the lowest setting, and all the others on the lowest setting. I have 1 gig of OCZ 3200 comming from Newegg soon, and am going to upgrade my video card, but my current system should run this game!

I may just have to wait for the ram, try the game again, and if it does not work, wait for my new video card...

Any help is greatly apreciated!

Running windows xp home, no other programs running with Far Cry.

sounds like its a sound problem. Heres a list to do:

1. reinstall game
2. reinstall sound card drivers
3. if possible, get new sound card
4. if nothing works, blow the **** out of it.

Problem solved!!

Thanks for the info, but it was a video card problem. I got new drivers (I thought I had the new one) and it works ok. I get a little bit of lag, but not too bad. Only one paycheck or so untill I get a new video card!
