i got my new tv tuner card, (msi tvanywhere) the other day. installed all the drivers and what not fine. but the program it comes with to be used at the tv tuner software, will not load. the program is called intervideo msipvs. whenever i click on it, it will open the loading screen for about 10 seconds, then i will get an error message. does anyone have any ideas? i would be most grateful for some help. i put the card in my friends compter, and everything works great. i can use virtualdub, and tell it to capture video from the composite port on the card, and i can see the picture from my ps2, which is plugged in it. and if i use the tv tuner program in virtualdub, and tell it to capture from that, i can see a picture, although a very bad one. i dont have any more ideas. if you have any questions about my setup, feel free to ask. thanks in advance.

two things. First of all, what OS do you have, an what OS does your friend have?

Second, what is the exact error message.

both of us are running win xp, w/o sp1.

the error message is:

"InterVideo?WinDVR Application has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."

I then "click here" for more information, and get this.

Error Signature: AppName: windvr.exe AppVer: 2.0.34.108
ModName: mfc42.dll ModVer: 6.0.8665.0 Offset: 00020b2a

i can get the "technical report," which yields a little something like this:
