I've hooked everything up the way the manuals instruct and when I hit the power button it trips the power supply breaker, then takes a few minutes to reset. I have two 6 pin connectors plugged into my graphics card, the 24 pin connector at the motherboard plus one 6 pin going to the motherboard as well, then the powers going to the HDD and cd drive. Power supply is an evga 1000g1. Idk what I'm missing.

SOLVED... I hooked up CPU power incorrectly but got it figured out.

6 pin going to mobo?
sounds like you hooked up a pci-e connector to the cpu power slot

Here are some pics. Notice an unmarked connector right up against the mobo slot on the power supply.

Do I need to have a cable plugged in to the cpu slot and going to the 8 pin on the top center of mobo?
