i just got a asus p4s333 and 1.8 northwood . i put it all togeter ,whole new system and now it keeps booting to the bios only. it detects my devices but wont even boot to floppy . what could be wrong?

First off, check the boot order, and make sure it's checking your bootable device before your HDD. I've made that mistake before. Does it lock at the BIOS or does it just give you a blank screen right after the BIOS screen? Also, make sure the floppy cables are in properly. This is an easy mistake we've all made at one time or another.

how would i know if my motherboard is defective ? ive switched cables and everything and same , boots to bios to change or choose speed and wont go further. doesnt seem to check ide devices properly either and takes long to do so probably 50 secs till the beep.
