Hello everyone, I'm Salty1, new here but have been browsing the forums for weeks.

I'm not sure how to OC beyond this:

CPU FREQ = 255 1.46v (2.8 MHZ)
CPU multi = 11
HT = 4
DRAM = DDR333
PCI-E clock 100MHZ
PCI clcok 332

This gives me a stable system at 2.8 and FSB 1020 using prime95 and super pi with load temp of 53C

Today I tried
CPU 265 HT multi 3x It gave me 2.9 with FSB 792 and 54C.
It failed prime 95 after a couple short cycle testing. 5 min maybe.

I don't know much about OC but would like to have a stable 2.9 to 3.0 system,
My question is what might I tweak to get it stable at those rates. I'm new at OC-ing and could use some concrete suggestions on what setting to tweak/ I might try. (I'm not even sure what to ask you guys:rolleyes:

In case my sig did not stick here are my system specs again:
XP Home SP2
A8N-SLI Deluxe Nforce4chipset
AMD X2 4400+ Zalman 9500 HSF 2 gig RAM
80 and 500 GIG HD
550 watt PSU
7800 GT SLI
Antec 900 case with 4 fans 1 is 200mm top case fan

Thanks!!!!

did you run through all the tests in the A64 Overclocking sticky? what were the fsb speeds you got for the proc, the ram, and the htt? what voltage are you running the 2.9ghz trial at? what brand/model psu do you have?

I was running the vcore at 1.46. I still need to run the tests from the A64 OC sticky. I have the an antec 550 PSU.

Flying a bit blind here as I am not computer savvy in the least. Just blindly whacking my way through this.
