help with ocf'ing a 750mhz amd athlon

Any one know what i should do, i plan to oc, to about 9oo mhz, then if it run's stable upgrade my cooling, to refergerated, and oc agen.

any commets sugestiongs, oh ya, anc could some one who has oc'ed a athlon befor tell me what to do?

definately try to post your system spec if anyone can help you then the guys here will be the ones. Try downoading Sandra from sysoft (find it with a search engine) also have you looked at the beginnners guide on the o/c site? that started me off

it is a slot, i have not sys info, becuase it is not built yet.... ill post as soon as all parts come in...

If you have a Slot CPU, try to get a Gold Finger Device. That will give you much higher chances on a good oc. The Slot A CPU don't oc very good over the FSB. -MOBO not CPU Problem-
And get some good cooling like Global Win VOS 32 or Alpha....
Those CPU's get hot if you give them an little more voltage

Life can be tough with a Slot A, trust me! Have you already got a mobo lined up? If so what you got?

BTW i got my t-bird to 990MHz today with standard cooling (case open) and it ran OK a touch on the hot side but not too bad. Still waiting on a duel fan to come in.

Also anyone had a go at unlocking the multiplier on a slot A chip?

go all the parts, and put it all togather today.... looks like i don't need to do any thing to over clock, my board will let me do that just by editing the bios. I havn't tryed any thing yet though, becuase windows is not fully configerd, and i have not tested my temp gages yet.... i have to much work to do, to realy get any thing done on it now.

If you want to over clock, just get one of the new shuttel mother boards "spacewalker" or some ting like that, they let u change the cpu muiltiply, and core voltiage wiht out cracking open the cpu......

I had a slot A 700 Athlon with a EpoX mobo. It clocked to 805 with a Gold Orb. Ran ungoldy hot, bu trock stable.

I got it all togather now, still waiting on a moniter, and vid card, right now i am using a crapy old old monter 1991 lol and a 32 mb pci vid card. lol 16 bit i cant see jack sh|t it is burning my eyes. Im not going to over clock, untill i can get a temp moniter up and running. I have the system running at 749 rock soilid. just got it all running like 5 min ago. Got my sweet linksys nic* card in... Just aided a new fan to the case. My air cooling system is not fully on libne yet... when it is is will use about 140 volts to power all the fans. I have a huge *** fan that im gona drop into the side of the case.... just need to get a cool lookin grill. I might be adding a refigerted cooling system soon.

PS: any one know of a way to run both windows, and linux at same time... I need to run server, at same time that i run games and such on windows....

Any one know if u can oc, an old power mac? i got the pice in my base-ment, and i just want to make it go up in flames
