I forget where the thread was that it was discussed how much it costs to run a computer 24/7. If someone could give me an estimate as to how much my rig in the sig draws, or where i can find the original thread that would be great.
 
Opty: system in signature @ 1.53 vCore + 3x S-Flex case fans + electronic fan controller/temp monitor = 300 watts
Opty: same system but 2.7 GHz @ 1.45 vCore = 270 watts
4400+ (89w chip): 2.6 GHz @ 1.45v + 1x S-Flex fan + GeForce 6200 + HDD + CD-ROM = 170 watts

Both those systems are probably extremes for a socket 939 so figure you're in the middle at ~225 watts. That figures out to ~160 kW hours/month.


I run an old 2100+ XP and both of the above systems 24/7/365 - power's cheap in Missouri ... ;)

Lucky you! Dang cost of power here in NY sux :mad: Well NY is one of the most expensive states to live in. I can't wait to move the F out.
