This is my first thread here at OCForums and I think you all are the best to ask for advice. Here it goes. I'm looking to purchase a new 8x AGP card for my system (specs in my sig) that's an ATI Radeon; preferably one that overclocks fairly well (maybe a 20~30MHz overclock with a stock fan and above that with an ATI Sliencer 4), plays most current games well, and is under $400.

Currently I'm looking at the x800Pro lines from Sapphire, Gigabyte, and ATI. Here are the choices I'm considering:

Sapphire ATI Radeon X800Pro - Retail

Gigabyte ATI Radeon X800Pro - Retail

ATI Radeon X800Pro - Retail

So out of these which would you recommend or should I just pay the extra 30 dollars and get a VIVO version of the X800Pro?

Thanks in Advance.

Sapphire builds most of the High end 'Built by Ati' cards for ATI, there's no advantage to buying one or the other. If it were me, I'd buy the Sapphire or 'Built by Ati' as they are the same thing. They have a good warranty, I'm not familiar with Gigabytes customer support, so that's why I recomend the Built by ATI or Sapphire.

U MUST GET THE VIVO version or u just get a X800XT one
X800PRO VIVO AGP version would flash to X800XTPE with the extra 4 pixel pipe.
Accroding to the 3dmarks2005 result
X800PRO<-47xx 12 pipe
X800XL<-47xx 16 pipe
X800PRO@XTPE<-65xx 16 pipe

Ditto. BBA or Sapphire.

Personally Sapphire has been looking fairly good lately to me and I wouldn't hesitate to take one of their cards.

IIRC, I've read that, from ViperJohn's posts, the X800Pro Vivo's have now become failed X800XT's, so either they didn't overclock past 500/500 or their pipes didn't work properly. If you want a better overclock, it should be fail-safe to go with a normal X800Pro now.
