helping a friend fix his power mac g4

I personally don't like macs. My friend uses them and wants me to help him fix his current power mac g4. His hard drive died. It makes a click noise. lol.

Here my question cause I don't know a lot of the difference between ultra ata 66/ 100.

Don't bother getting a 500GB drive as the ATA chip is limited to 128GB. A 120GB drive would be your best option, or using the internal FW port with a FW hard drive mounted internally.

Also to install 10.5 you'll have to do this.

I'd recommend putting 10.4 on it for the sake of speed if it's CPU has not been upgraded (or if it's not at least a Dual G4).
