I am looking for something sufficient for just the GPU. I keep finding stuff though that covers ram as well.
Is it all that important to cool both?

Oh yeah. Water block, as it is water cooled.

I'll be getting better then 1800, and am spending it on things for my PC.

Why not get a full coverage block? Order a model that fits one.. Check out EK's webpage for models that fit...or buy evga hydro copper model and it comes with it.
