I got the replacement digital temp lcd in the mail yesterday from crazypc, good people by the way...they didn't even charge me shipping for the replacement. I checked it against 2 other digital themometers and it was accurate to +-1C. Installed it in the PC and it works great.
One thing I did notice that I believe you've mentioned.....the network logon screen seems to really stress the CPU for some reason....I watched my temps go up to 49 C while it was waiting for me to log on. Higher than I've ever seen Prime95 go. Could this actually be a better stress test? I'm going to start a separte thread on that subject.

P.S. MBM5 was actually pretty accurate in my case. I have the in socket thermistor bent up to touch the back of the CPU. It was accurate to about +2 C.
