I kind of really want to try it out, but im afraid with all the horror stories of 8.0 lol, I havent really heard anything bad about 8.1 however. I might change over tomorrow after getting new ram. Havent quite decided that one yet. Another thing im afraid of is finding out its not even a ram problem. I have to try and find somewhere that will take the ram back if I have the problem afterwards..

Hey guys I just noticed this looking through the .sysdata file generated after another BSOD and I noticed it saying this " DEVICE>
Intel(R) Xeon(R) processor E3-1200 v3/4th Gen Core processor PCI Express x16 Controller - 0C01
"

Is that normal?

No BSOD as of yet, have installed new ram, had to go with Ripjaw series, however it is still compatible with my motherboard. I recieved a new error however.

Does this now point towards my Graphics card as the culprit or may it be the motherboard?

You said your version of Windows wasn't legit, have you thought that it could be simply a corrupt installation iso?

I wouldnt put it past it, however ive been using this same copy for over a year and a half at this point. I mean it is a certain possibility but ive never seen this prior to me getting my new motherboard and cpu. That being said I am going to try a new install, maybe with windows 8.1 or something. Asus support is trying to tell me its likely GPU drivers or a GPU hardware issue at this point. Not quite sure how I feel about that. They want me to pull the GPU and test it for a while without that, what do you guys think?

If you have a product key you can download the iso from Microsoft iirc.

I would test without the GPU just to make sure.

Alright so im going to pull the GPU, wipe my PC, remove my second HDD that I had dropped while putting my PC back together, Im only going to install chipset/mobo drivers and windows updates and run that for 5 or 6 hours or until BSOD, if no BSOD im gonna add items back in slowly and drivers for them. no other software either.. looks like im in the long haul for this one lol. Ill be back if the issues persist and thank you again everyone, sorry im being such a pain.

Just an update, ran all night with my old ram, onboard gpu, and basic drivers (chipset, mobo / audio and onboard gpu), just putting in my old harddrive to test that for a few hours now.

Alright so I had installed my software for my Samsung 840 Pro just a few minutes ago, I did advanced settings and the software on it recommends using 400-2048mbs for virtual memory (Page file im assuming) if you have more than 4 gigs of ram, about a minute after switching to that I BSOD'd;

Think this could have anything to do with it or is it just coincidence that it happened that way?

I have it set back to system managed and its showing 8130mb allocated, now all I have to do is wait I guess. But just out of curiosity, to your knowledge, would that happen due to a lack of page file space?

Never seen that happen before, my guess is that its the software and not the page file.

Just letting you know that ive still yet to have another BSOD after that change.

Definitely seems to point toward changing the page file. I have no clue why that would cause a BSOD though.

I think that may have been it, I left my pc on running prime 95 all night just for the sake of keeping something running, and woke up this morning to it still running, so hopefully that was the issue!

Alright, so the problem is still happening. I was watching a video on youtube and it crashed again :(

Im going to try and remove the samsung software all together and see if that makes any change.

Edit - Weve now blue screened twice in a row while trying to uninstall Samsung Magician :(
Edit 2 - Ive replaced the sata cable now aswell to see if that may help at all. If I remember correctly, I did use a new sata cable when installing the new motherboard so all I can do now is hope!
