With that budget, I can imagine you can go Intel...

3570K - 169
Asrock Z77 Extreme 4 - 110
2x4GB DDR3 1600MHz - 34
Corsair CX430 - 34
Case you chose - 28
HD7770 - 100
HDD you chose - 58

Now, thats 533, but I think a much better PC (unless whatever you do requires 8 cores).

i need to be able to run most modern games and need to be able to run inventor 2010,inventor 2012, autocad 2010, and a cnc simulation program all at the same time so yeah i think i need 8 cores but i am not sure maybe this processor http://www.amazon.co.uk/AMD-Phenom-...1_5?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1355406174&sr=1-5 i do net have lets say a good experience with intel i think that they are super overpriced

Well, the 7770 is an OK card, for 1680x1050 resolution and less. If you want to play modern games at 1080p, then you will need to up that card to a 7850.

Some of those applications are CUDA/OpenGL supported and that load can go on your GPU. That said, though intel is pricey, the performance is there to warrant it, IMO. Since you sem to need cores though, and are on a limitd budget, AMD seems to be the way to go here assuming those applications do use more than 4 cores.

i don't know how many cores they use

With a 500$ PC? :D

No kidding: the applications you are mentionning profits from more than 4 cores but the profit is thight... The memory controller will suffer anyway if you try to run all these things at the same time.
Remember that 8 cores have to be feeded and the only feeder is one controller, so the performance boost won't be huge... if any!

Intel is vastely superior to AMD in games. In applications, the competition is harder, but Intel stays ahead in performance (and AMD ahead in price ;) )

For what you are planning to do, a FX 8350 on AMD size would be fine, but no the same budget...

more like a 600 dollar pc the prices are in GBP exept for the gpu

The story remains the same... the 7770 isnt going to cut it with modern games at their highest settings at 1080p. You will have to turn settings down or lower your resolution to play things with all the eye candy on.

Yes, or go for a 6870 and an APU (like A10 5800K) and crossfire them... For the graphic part of the problem, it will do it, but not for the applications part...

@EarthDog my monitor is 786x1366 so no 1080p needed but will it runfor example battlefield3 and gta 5 and saints row 4 and some need for speed games mainly the 2012 most wanted on high or max settings?

That resolution is quite low so that will help.. that said, you have now teetered on being CPU bound.

what do you mean that the cpu is not powerful enough i would oc it to 4GHz

The frequency is not the main criterium for performance: the architecture is the most important one and the APUs CPU aren't thought for huge performance in applications, but for better graphics with restricted budgets :)
This. I think since his resolution is so low, he will want to save more and get the Intel build with a cooler and overclock that for best results with that 7770.

I agree, that's why I said that the AMD options wouldn't make it either in graphic or in CPU ;)

Yes, an i5 would make it with a 7770 at this resolution, but indeed, a good CPU cooler will be needed to deal with the OC! :)

The good old Hyper 212+ should be fine in this range, or the HR02 macho if the budget allows it

I have already created a good intel build for you... its a bit above budget, but its a solid build.
