i had a box fan laying around, and i thought lets hook it up to my computer

i made a shroud and taped it to my open case

the temps really dropped
before the fan running seti
cpu 54c system 32c
after the fan running seti
cpu 48c system 29c

air will come out every gap in your case, it really isn't that noisy at all on low, as i can still hear my system's fans going, medium they are about equal, and at high, it is very noisy

Yeah I use to do that with this PII and later my duron750-1500+ computer.

yes fery cool indeed.

i remember a thread in which a guy used one of those fans used to clear smoke out of houses. he ducted it and it was so powerful it dislodged his voodoo5 and threw it across the room and killed it. also a papper clip became lodged inside the pcb of his motherboard
