I just got a surplus supply catalog at work & they have mini-refrigeration units out of counter-top soda fountains for only $48!!
They're complete with compressor, condensor, etc..

I ordered one, hoping I can retro-fit it for cooling the CPU..

I work in a machine shop, so I can make any pieces I might need.
Any advice/suggestions on how to make the evaporator??
I don't know much about refrigeration, but I'm assuming I just need a small 'reservoir' with an inlet/outlet.. sound right?

I was thinking of getting a 3/4" diameter coper bar & hollowing it out. I can then cap it off with the two lines soldered at the top. Then it's small enough that I can wrap it with insulation & large enough to cover the CPU core.
I was going to make a larger 'box' to house the evaporator in, then just fill it with foam insulation and mount the whole deal to the cpu socket. What do you think?
