On the odd chance that somone might actualy know the answer. There has to be at least 10-20 EE people visiting this board every day. and the lm338k is a comon voltage regulator.

I haven't seen Hoot. he just became a mod so he must be on a vacation.

Richard IS THE MAN... The case is the v out alright.

Hey thanks alot... That is a great webpage.

I've been laid low by a virus (physical). Burning the candle in three or four places at the same time takes its toll. Not enough sleep, suck diet, work pressure, etc, caught up with me. I'm on the mend now. Sorry it took so long for you to get your answer.

Thats a great tutorial. I realy like seing people build voltage regulators instead of using rheos.

Also if you attach an led (with resistor) accross fan+ and fan- you get a light indicator that gets brighter or dimmer dending on your fan speed.

Put 4 of these on 1 board and you have the exact same fan bus that pcnut charges 50+ bucks for. For a total cost of about $12
