Hopefully simple memory question.

I have an ABIT AN8 32X motherboard. I am running a single core AMD 4000+ CPU. I have 2 dual channel DDR 400 (3200) memory sticks.

Should they go in memory slots 1 and 2 (128 bit) or slots 1 and 3 (64 bit) to get the best performance?

Or does it make a difference? The computer runs either way and windows recognizes them both either way.

All help appreciated. Also a reference to where I can learn about this kind of stuff would be great.

1 & 2 or 3 & 4 for dual channel.
Not sure if either way is faster.

If you want to spend the time, try in 1&2 & run pcmark 05. Then move to 3&4 & run again. Also prime95 is a great test for stability
