After my 2100 melted down I put a new board and thoroughbred 1800 in with an mcw372 emeim and chevette heatercore. This setup with 2 palamino 1800s got the temps listed in sig and now with one 1800 I get 47c!!! Both sets of temps are idle. load with new setup=50C!!!What in the heck is going on? the board is an msi kt3 ultra 2. Perhaps the pump is moving the water TOO quickly to take the heat from the block and transfer to the heatercore? I have reseated the block 3 times with no change and AS3 all times. running default voltage 1.65 @1.69GHZ. Any ideas what is going on?

How much AS3 did you use? You should use only a paper thin layer on the core. What is your ambient temperature? I'm assuming the temps in your sig are idle temps. Those seem fine, but 50C at load is not. Do you have anything else hooked up to the WCing loop? (GPU WB, NB WB, etc.) What Eheim pump do you have? The 1250 should be good for your application.

As often noted, it is not really useful to compare temps between different mobos. Compare only to your own results (with that motherboard) and with others who have the same model and processor.

That being said, it sounds like you've a got a hot spot of dead air at your socket and the temp is being read from an in socket thermistor. Take off the side of your case and point a fan at the socket, see if you get any improvement.

no the KT3 Ultra2 reads on die temps. The AS3 was reapplied thinly all three times. Pointing a fan at the mobo yields 2 degees drop. What I have tried though is OCing this ting to 2.02 and to my amazement temps dropped 2C!!! This leads me to believe that the board is just screwy with temps so i'll forget about for now. :D thanks for trying to help fallas :)
