How are the 939s overclocking these days?

I was thinking about building a cheap, yet solid computer for my sister. Nothing too serious. So I decided to settle with the great socket 939 AMDs.
So I was wonder... Are the Opteron 165s overclocking like they were back in the day? Which socket 939 processors are overclocking nicely these days?
Thanks.

I'm not sure how the overclocking is going with the new s939 chips but if this is a rig for your sister then does overclocking even matter? What sort of rig was she using before? I'd bet the switch to dual core will be more than enough. Unless she is some sort of overclocking addict like the rest of us.:D

I'm an overclocking addict... So I need to overclock whatever I'm building for her!

Haha, thats how I feel about the Conroe rig my dad is about to build. I've seen few overclocking results of some of the newer chips but the few that I have seen seem to be getting about the same. The chips that have changed are the Venice, I don't think they are doing so great. Might as well pick one up and see what you can get out of it.

all of the toledo cores OC pretty much the same, usually with just a 300mhz difference, no matter a 4000+ or a 4800+ ( I dont think anything higher then a 4800 is a toledo core)

Check out my Sig. Just got these systems last week and my overclock is still in progress.

The overclocking capabilities of the 165's tend to be overstated a bit because those that are inclined to post are generally the ones having good results.

I've used half a dozen with good boards & memory, same with a number of my friends, to say with near certainty that most fall around 2.5 - 2.7 ghz prime95 stable at any voltage, maybe a lucky 10% surpassing this and/or taking significant power/cooling measures. They tend to hit a brick wall fast after a certain point.
