how can I backup win xp update files?

How can I backup windows xp pro windows update files so I dont have to keep downloading them everytime I want to do a clean install? well I know how I think but where does it put the install files?

Go to www.microsoft.com/downloads/searchdl.asp?
Save them to your drive, and they'll be right there when you reinstall on your OS partion. Or burn a CD.

ok that works if I wanted to download them again for me to get them all it takes like 3 hours my net connection sux. Anyone know where it actually puts the files?

I think it downloads them to a temp dir, installs them, and clears out the temp files. Thats my guess.
