I have a little problem and need help.
I built my friend a computer with the following specs,

Duron 1 Ghz CPU
Shuttle AK12A motherboard with (VIA AC97 sound)
256 megs of pc133 micron memory
60 GIG Maxtor 7200 RPM ultra ATA 133 hard drive
nVidia Geforce 2 MX video card
Windows 2000 (SP2)
Samsung 40x cdrom
etc etc etc.

Now he wanted a budget computer for as cheap as possible so this is what we ended up building him.
It is a fairly nice computer, fast, efficient, 100% stable, loth of hard drive space and plays games fairly well.
Now here is where the problem is, my friend calls me up the other day and says, "I cant get sound out of Doom 2 and Star Wars Rebal Assault and a few other 50 year old games that he is trying to play."

I checked these games and in the setup there is no Sound Blaster emulation or anything like that so I dont know how to get sound out of them with the VIA AC97 sound, is there any way to?
Would it be able to play them with the VIA AC97 sound if it was Windows XP?
What should I do in this situation?
The only thing I can think of is to go out and buy a sound blaster 16 pci card and install it in his computer, then he would have compatibility with old and new games?
Please give me some info people.

Are those dos window games? Maybe you have no sound dos support? Browse the CD and maybe you can get it.
