i have the KT3 ultra2 board and the 1/5 kicks in at 152..my chip can only handle up to 157fsb, but at that speed, the pci is only at 31.3 and my computer will not boot.

is there a way around this? do i have a bad board?

ps. when i try the 158fsb(31.3pci) the hard drive makes a clicking sound when booting up

Underclocking the PCI is just as bad, if not worse, than overclocking the PCI. PCI devices like 33.3 MHz.

If your hard drive just clicks when you try to boot at any given FSB, that means your HD doesn't like running out of spec. Either live with it or get a different HD.

i'm not familiar with that board, but if it has a 1/5 divider surely it has a multiplier adjustment. unlock that chip then you can get your pci in spec at 166 with the 1/5 divider.
