i have an abit nf7-s 2.0 mobo and logitech z640s. everything is plugged in right, but i only get sound out of the front 2 speakers, center channal, and sub. ive gone into the nforce sound options, but i have no clue what should or should not be checked to get sound out of my rear speakers, or what other settings i need.

that was the 1st thing i did. if anyone uses z640s with nforce2 sound, can u tell me what your exact settings are?

You need this: NVSwap

It switches the audio ports from line-in and mic-in to rear out, etc. You might need a bios update too. Nforce2 manufacturers really f***** up non-Soundstorm boards. None of them will do 4 or 5 channel out of the box without this app.

Oh, I think you might need to get updated Nforce2 drivers from Nvidia too. I don't really remember. It's been a couple months since I fried my mobo and now I'm running a Biostar M7VKD with a 900mhz Duron.

Lesson learned? Don't by a Shuttle board because their RMA service sucks.
