is it as simple as just pluggin it in and then reformatting it?i got a whole new comp for 100 bucks and i want to use the harddrive with mine.its only a 10 gig harddrive but itll be good enough to just hold music and games.so how do i go about installing it ,i have never installed hardrive b4.thanks guys in advance.

how do i install second harddrive??

you set the drive up as a slave using jumpers on the drive and connect it to the same IDE ribbon as the Master ( the hard drive containg your OS )
