I have an Abit KT7A mobo and a 1 Ghz Athlon C w/ 266 FSB and 256 MB PC 133 RAM. My question is how do I set my BIOS up so that I can run the cpu at 266 and the ram at 133 without overclocking the rest of my system? This may be a really stupid question, but hey, this is the first system I've ever built.

Your BIOS should detect everything correctly on its own, so you shouldn't have to set the FSB or RAM speed youself. But in any event, your FSB should be set to 133 and the RAM should be set to something like "HOSTCLK+PCICLK". I don't have my motherboard manual with me right now or I would tell you exactly what they are and where they are located.

I don't really know how to explain it to you but 266 is really just marketing hype by amd. A 266 cpu means that it runs at 133 fsb. A 200 means that it runs at 100 fsb.

I'm sure that someone will come in and explain it better than I can.
