how do you cat proof a computer?

I don't see anything wrong. Looks fine to me. What's the question here?

That HP tower is rather hard to filter the fans in the front because they're concealed. There are DEMCIflex magnetic filters available on frozencpu.com that you can add to your intake fans behind the case front. They have a magnetic rim, so they're cake to install.
When filtered, very little fur will get inside, but you'll have to clean the space between the front fascia and the filtered port once in a while.

Cats and dogs have very sensitive olfactory/smell. Sprinkle a little something noxious (to them) around any area you don't want them to hang out. Powdered hot peppers, ammonia and moth balls are my favorites. Just be sure not to use so much that your living space becomes unbearable for you. Like the old commercial for Brylcream said " a little dab will do ya".

You can get a spray bottle with water (make sure that you don't get any in your computer) and spray your cat every time (will only work if the cat hates water)it gets on your computer after a few times the cat will learn through negative reinforcement that, that is bad so it SHOULD stop.

I have the same issue with my two cats. 1st option see if the cat can fly after being thrown out the window. :p sorry I had to. 2nd which is what I did was put crumpled aluminum foil on top of the box. Works well.

You may not like this answer but here's what I did.....The first time my kitty jumped up on my computer and shut it off (power button on top). I picked her up, yelled at her and then tossed her several feet away...basically out of my computer room. She has yet to do it again and now she'll just come and jump in my lap if she wants attention....not on the computer.

I read the title of the thread then click on the thread then saw the picture and it made me LOL pretty hard. I keep my main computer in the bedroom and the cat isnt allowed in, he will literally sit on the edge of the bedroom, knowing he isnt allowed. Cat hair drives me nutz.

Will a cat sit on two air blowers?

A case with top exhaust fans might do the trick.
Looks like a happy cat to me, I wouldn't mess with it :D

DAT CAT! i wish my cat would do that. instead he just eats my face when he gets mad... which was all the time :(

Neither of my cats will do more then walk across a keyboard and I have computers in every room but 2 of my house.

Bonus as well, if my GF comes over, the one cat is hidden (long story on why that cat ONLY likes me), and my other cat will glare at her for taking over HIS bed.

Now laundry OTOH... If I fits, I sits.

At one time I would have said, "Put cat outside...Problem solved." Unfortunately I now have a cat inside. Luckily there are only a few places in the house that she thinks are hers and none of those are anywhere near my computer.
