I am new to the overclocking world. So I was wondering if any body could give me some pointers.

Thanx

My system includes the following:
ASUS A7V
AMD Duron 800mhz
ASUS Geoforce 2mx
SB Live Platinum
256MB Ram
Windows ME

you need to do "the pencil trick" which is connect the L1 bridges with a mechanical number2 pencil to unlock the CPU. Then throw the voltage to at least 1.75 and multiplier to 10X. Good luck, easy as pie . . . . . . . .

Go to this website link and it will explain the Duron/Tbird overclocking with good pictures as well. The article will talk about a conductive pen to connect to the L1 bridges, but a 2B pencil works very well, but any pencil containing graphite will work.

Nice system - just did the pencil unlock on my bro's duron 600, easier than I thought it would be. Those bridges look small, but you'd be surprised how easy it is to draw a blob on each one without crossing over. I had a few goes at it cos I went straight for the higher multipliers (8.5x, 9x) and upped the voltage to like 1.7, 1.75. It didn't post, so i assumed it was the bridges - turned out the voltage needed to be 1.8V. Have fun ocing that GeForce2MX if you're willing to risk it. Mine came with NO cooling on the gpu, still went from 175/275 to 210/310 np. Slammed a blue orb on there, got to 220/310 (can't go any higher with coolbits reg edit). Got me about 600 extra 3dmark points. Have a look at the beginner's articles on the front page if you haven't already, they helped me a lot. Hope you get your gig!
