without the voltage mods u shoulkd be able to crank it up to at least 160 if iut gives u fits change ur agp speed to 2x and try again memeory is trhe main thing holding fsb back

In what way does changing my AGP to 2X help me with higher FSB? I might have to try that!

the agp bus is odd 2x agp is 66mhz but its ddr hence the 2x
4x is qdr

turning down agp to 2x makes the bus more stable as its pushed beyond spec

i dont know who to explain technically why but take note of the fact that intels rambus memeory is qdr and doesnt overclock well yet ddr does

i think it has to do with greater collision and interference with qdr

btw ive got my ak31 at 154 right now with no mods and an acient tnt2 agp card
and generic ram at 2.7 volts with fastest settings

Man that's sweet! My system just started becoming unstable at 150 FSB. I know I need a new P/S, because at 2.20 my 5v hovers around 4.82. System becomes stable if I back the FSB down though. (vcore setting the same at 2.20)

Kinda confusing. I don't know what else to try?

i read in another forum the ak31 was more stable at higher fsb than the ak35 but hell if i know personally it varries from system to system and if you do the voltage mods for the entire board u can get much higher fsb stably

I am currently running it at 150fsb, I was told that with more Vmem(maybe 3.1 or 3.2v) that this could solve the problem of the over 152fsb or so problem, anyone do a Vmem mod to thier AK31 to see if that allowed a higher FSB?

Jim

i havent done it on my ak31 yet but im planning on it this weekend if u do the vmem mod u should also do the vio mod bc that also affects memeory voltages and it gives ur pci bus more jouice to keep it and the cards it has more stable

I'm at 150, 2.7v DDR voltage, 1.825 vcore. I run totally stable and have decent temps in this range with air cooling. I ran at 155 for a while, but the temps were higher than I liked and I couldn't run the most aggressive memory timings and stay stable.

it'll go higher if you flash to the ak35 bios or use cpufsb(included with cpucool or available as a stand alone app)

I wouldn't want to flash with the wrong bios just to get high fsb b/c I have heard that it causes alot of other problems. as far as using cpufsb I thought about that but I'll stay at 166 for a while until I can get better cooling at least. funny thing is I went from 1654 to 1660 with a 2c increase in temps.

164 FSB stable, fastest memory timings using crucial 2100 cl2.5. Vcore was 1.85 and mem was 2.7. Going from 150fsb to 164 fsb only rose my temps up by 3c using the copper Swiftech MCX370.

150FSB with a 1.4GHz TB @ 1.5GHz (10x150)
using dram slot 1 & 2. 256mb pc2100 Corsair XMS in each.
corevoltage is 1.75 memory voltage is maxed out. super SUPER stable. i have never tried any higher. i will soon though just to see what i can get, BUT my HS/F holds me back.
