How hot is too hot??

I just got an 1800+, and I'd like to know what would be the max safe temp for it. 130F, 140F? At what point does it melt??

i believe xps fry at around 80 c. im not sure what that is in F though. a safe temp would be 45 and under, for it to run perfectly. thats what i suggest you shoot for

anything below 70C to be safe

not sure about amd's but i've gotten my roomates old p3 chip up to 90c and it ran fine, VERY hot though...

yeah but when a p3 gets to hot it crashes but when a amd gets hot the sob frys really frys smoke and all.. which reminds me MAKE SURE THE HS DOES NOT FALL OFF!!! anything under 50c i hear is ok... im runing at 40 load right now but then again i just did a voltmod and im runing at 2.05 vcore so those temps are not to bad..
