I decided to scan my system with regscrubxp...

Keys/Values Examined : 900322
Problems Found : 386

I didn't fix any of them (becuase I don't really have any problems) but I found it interesting that a lot of my registry is seen as not having any issues. :shrug:

Hmmm... I wonder if that is the correct way to read registry size...

.reg = 117 Mb
.txt = 225 Mb (this I find amusing)
the 5 files mentioned in the post above = 45.5 Mb

In other words, going "directly to the source" yields files that are much smaller in size. I wonder why this is...

My .reg was, what, 30 some MB? So yours really is gigantic. After having XP running for almost 4 years, what do you think mine used to be? :cool:

most of thiat is stuff that you uninstall and it doesnt remove some of the registry entries

youll probably have more than 380 when your done running it becuase some times it doesnt detect bad entires becuase they are pointed to bad entries

so first time you get 380 next run you get like 80 or 90 then 1 or 2 then nothing

it also makes backup if you were going to run it so you can restor if something gets screwed up

sorry this graph looks bad with the compression

the y axis is frequency
and the x axis is size

so most of the registrys are around the 40mb range ( roughly)
