How long does thermal paste last unopened?

It should be fine. I've had tubes of TIM around longer than that & haven't seen a failed product.

I'd imagine shelf life varies by product. Mx-4 is likely still fine.

That said, If you bought all new fans for a folding rig, you can spend $10 on new, better TIM.

Iirc shelf life for mx-4 is 8yrs. But that's coming from someone who has probably forgotten more than he remembers
