I rma'd a hard drive recently and was wondering about how long I'll be waiting for the fix/replacement. Anyone who has rma'd to western digital before, give me a rough guess as to how long I'll be waiting. They received the hard drive on 3/18/02.

A friend of mine RMA'd to WD, took 15 weeks to get a replacement.
On the brighter side he scored an extra 5 gigs out of it tho.
That was also in Australia, just hope it's not the same in the US

took me over a month but I scored 10gigs plus they upgraded it from 5400rpm to a 7200 rpm. then again I need to RMA the new drive due to bad sectors... I think I'm goign to do the quick thing though.

hummm....I've always had good luck with the express replacement RMA. Just give em a credit card number and you get a new drive in 3-4 days. In my experience WDC has always been the best at the RMA gig, of course, their drives also seem to fail more than others, LOL.
