how loud?

im just trying to get an idea of how loud 30dBa really is?

Usuallyanything under 30Db is quiet. The smaller the fan could make more Db level than a larger one. Getting a true reading from the manufactor is also difficult.

Something about 20 dBa is quiet. 30 too much. It's not very noisy but you can hear it well enough.

Myself, I would be interested in the noise level while attached to the desired equipment.


I have a radioshack fan that is something like 65 or 85 CFM @ 12 volts.

oh it's pretty quiet pushing open air, but even when it's down to 7volts it's just about the loudest part on my machine.


I gotta get new fans dangit

90 - Heavy lorry passing at 4m
80 - door slamming at 2m
70 - vacuum cleaner at 2m
60 - normal conversation
40 - background noise at home
20 - whisper
0 - threshold of hearing sound just audible
