If this had been a topic before feel free to kill it but:

How much space do you use, not how big your HDD is but over all with all your files and MP3's how much space do you use.

I use 75GB which two years ago I could not fill a 8GB  Lot of data.

Hmm, tough to say. On this machine, I have a 10gb, and it stays pretty full with general software. All of my video I keep on my xbox, in an 80gb, although I only use maybe 15 for video. I'm not much for keeping loads of mp3s. I do have a 60gb downstairs on another computer where I have a few hundred, although most of those are thanks to my brother, so that's maybe 3 gigs of mp3s.

Surprisingly, I dont use up a lot of space.

Recently Ive been thinking of creating a network databse with mp3s of all my cds, that will push my storage requirements up quite a bit.

I got a 20GB SCSI 15k and a 40GB 7200, keep the 7200 at about 90% full all the time (my b*tch drive), I usually leave the SCSI at about 50%, I baby my SCSI.

I have a new 60 Gig HDD on the way, but for now my 13.6 is jam packed with so much stuff that I can only install a few games at a time...
My brother on the other hand tells me he has just added another 80 Gigs of storage for a total of 230 Gigs...Mostly MP3's...
Now, THAT is a helluva lot of storage...

15gigs mp3 (on my nomad and hard drive)
25gigs divx videos
30gigs compressed exe's
and a crapload of other stuff

140gigs total filled

I have about 90 gigs. you would be suprised how much space games take up. I swear each time a patch comes out there goes another gig, lol

I get upset if I get more than 6gig on my 40gig HD. I like to keep mine cleaned out.

Just make sure to label those CDR's good :D

It looks like I am definatly on the low side of how much I keep on my comp commpared to you guys.

lol, the other day I actually had a file that was 35 GB because I accidentally encoded a dvix into raw avi using vdub. I was like WTF?

bout 30gig in total

13gig of mp3s
5gig of vids & pics
2.5gig of downloads (.exe etc.)
5gig of games
1.5gig for windows
2 gig of program files

all on a 40gig maxtor dm8.

I have a 40 gig in my laptop and a 60 gig external. I try to keep my main hdd less than 50% full, but now I have a gig of ram, so that's not really necessary. 40 gigs divx, 8 gigs mp3's, 10 gigs pics/progs on my external; 5 gigs mp3's, 8 gigs windows/progs etc on my main hdd.

I once had a corrupt self-extracting zip file that just kept making a bigger, and bigger file until you shut it down through task manager. I remember thinking boy, this zip is sure taking a long time to extract, maybe it's hung up or something. Low space? I just had 4 gigs, what happened. lol.

On my primary PC, no reason to go into the others, lol....

I have 2 comp
1st one
2x 80G WD , 1 120G maxtor , 1 30G maxtor
2nd one
1 80G and 1 60G Maxtor.
They mostly filled within 2 weeks if I don't burn out to DVDR or CDR.

My problem is that i loose stuff. Copy my 20gig movie folder and forget about it. Or accidently encoding raw avi and having 3gig files all over the place.
