Hehe, Ill also upgrad my PC this week.

From a:
800 AMD TB
A7V Asus
1GB SD133 Ram

To a:
2700+
A7N8X
512 PC3500 CAS2 ( One chip, getting one more next month )

Staying the same:
125 GB HDD
GeForce 3 ( Getting Radeon 9700 pro, 9900 pro? or the new GeForceFX next month )

This will make my PC rock again! Then ill buy some kind off water cooling ( Also next month ) and OC the **** out of it!:D

hahah i still can't get over the gf3 beating the 9700 pro *cough BS BS!, i've seen like 200 benchmarks where the radeon 8500 beats the gf3 and even more showing that the 9700 pro kicks the crap out of even the almighty gf4ti4600. i can't see how the 9700 would lose if the test was fair. and imagine the gap b/w a 9700 pro and a gf3 with AA and AF turned on.

I see nVidia owners all the time too who have problems with their card/drivers...whats ur point? DO u currently have an ATi product? No, so then u havent used their recent drivers...so shhh about drivers unless u have personal experiance. My 9500 Pro has run 100% flawlessly since day 1, as well as the great majority of ATi cards have. [

im very happy for you!!!

Can't we all get a long, He uses ATI, She uses Nvidia. Its not about who uses what but who can frag better. I have a ATI 8500 and a TI 4400 and the both do the job. Morral of the story, just frag each other to death and be happy :p :D :)

I happen to have a geforce4 ti 4600 and with the new det. drivers 42.01 the diff between the nvidia and the ati is not that great, first the nvidia runs on a faster core clock as well as mem. speed the only thing the ati 9700 pro has over it is that it runs on a 256 bit architecture instead od a 128 bit architecture so it has about 20% better bandwith...nuff said. and I have owned ati and no thank you not again I'll stick with nvidia and wait till the nv31 comes out with a 1gig core speed and them ati will need dust masks...

There are a few more differences between the 9700Pro and Ti4600 than just memory Interface width and clock speed. edited by cw823

The 9700 Pro has 8 pixel pipes to the Ti4600's 4. The 9700 supports the newest version of Pixel shader and Vertex shader. The Ti4600 does not. The 9700 supports 10bits per color channel, the Ti4600 only 8bits. The 9700 is DX9 capable the Ti4600 is not.

edited by cw823. The 9700Pro sports something like 19.2GB of memory bandwidth to the Ti4600 10.4 GB per second. You do the math. That sure seems like more than 20% to me.

as for the NV31 beating snot out of ATI, maybe with the current 9700, but do you think ATI is going to sit on it's *** and let Nvidia beat them. ATI has been working on the R10000. Their next release will prevent them from having to eat dust... as Nvidia is doing now, to play catch up to the 9700Pro.

Opinions are like A** Holes, Everybodies got one!

And so do you. We do not tolerate flaming. Calling someone a nvidiot, IS flaming.
