Hey All, as i have been contiplanting for the past 6months i have been thinking of going to water cooled, i have a LGA775 P4 at 3.4ghz prescott core, and i have the zalman 7700 cooling it right now which does a fine job with the 120mm fan, it runs my p4 at 50C running CS:S at full graphics, and right when i close out CS:S it drops to 45C instantly and then goes quickly to a good idle temp of 39C or below depending on my room temperature, and my fan controller speeds. BUT i read in a magazine that my CPU cooler is the best cooler that can get the temps close to water cooled temps, SO i am assuming water cooling can get the temps even cooler...... i hope ..... i just recently purchased a Antec SOHO server case, and the bish is big, and i have seen this case turned to a water cooled rig by moving the top optical drive to the 2nd drive bay and putting the radiator at the top of the case with 2 fans blowing the hair through the radiator and out of the top of the case, and so then i could drop in 3.5" resivoir into the floppy area, sinse i dont run a floopy and then i could hide the pump behind the HDD rack, but anyway back to my real question, what would i be looking at for temps? i dont really do OCing even though my ABIT mobo w/ GURU help me if i want to, and if i do i would only push it to like 3.6 but my main concern is to cool my bish down and maybe possibly i would also cool my VGA with this setup too, but my primary concern is the CPU........... thanks for any and all info peoples ......................

(yes i said BISH, i am used to typing that instead of *****, b/c of my work, im an AOL TECH) and the radiator i was lookin to be would be a twin 80mm radiator, possibly a Switftech CPU block, the small pump on crazypc.com, OR if anyone has any input on the parts for this kind of setup that would also be wonderful! thanks again!

get a single 120 rad if space is tight, a dual if you can fit it - will do a much better job, you should still be able to put it on the top of the case... from what I hear the dual 80mm rads are a waste of cash...

for p4 prescott, it would be better if you lap the IHS off and show the cpu die...

my watercooling rig, my cpu idle temp and cpu full load temp are within 2c and I do OC my system... my cpu Vcore is at 1.900v and default voltage for it was 1.45v...

check my sig

ok thats good to know, i dont think i would have enough room for a dual 120mm radiator b/c of the PSU, i mean the radiator would probably be able to squeeze in there, but with no fan, so i would rather put a single 120mm radiator and fan in there, so ill look into that thanks................. any word yet on what temps ill be looking around?

i did the thermaletake BW and at idle its close but my load is down 5C with a slightly warmer room temp, i had the zalman all copper and lapped cpu 3.2e at 4g on a 478

wow thats awesome for those temps only being that close to eachother, unless its a high number lol ........ and i do not know if i could trust myself in lapping the cpu, i would probably have to reach lapping alot before i would trust my self enought to lap the cpu.

what about try to cut open the top of your case.. and mount your rad there?

like this

actually i thought about taking my computer offline for alittle bit and cutting the top of the tower up and having my dad help me mold a kind of bubble in the top to provide extra room for the radiator and to maybe put a temp censor screen in the bubble too.
