How rare is this?

When I went to unlock my 1200 TBird last night, I noticed that it was factory unlocked. I couldn't believe it, I never heard of that before. If I remember correctly the earlier TBirds may have been factory unlocked, but I never heard of a 1200 being unlocked. It is an AVIA stepping. Is this rare?

All 133 chips above 1200mhz where unlocked.

My 1200 tbird (100FSB...retired) was factory unlocked as well.
