How to optimize my rig?

I recently came across a great deal for a custom built rig that my cousin had some trouble getting to work, but figured I could do a bit better, so I bought the whole assembly for two hundred dollars. I have gotten all of the components to run great at their basic settings with a slight overclock on the processor, but my knowledge of optimization drops off there. I have access to the following components for the build:

PSU: Raidmax 630ss 630 watt (I know its not enough for the crossfire)


I was wondering what I could do to maximize performance of the ram, if I should get a motherboard with support for pcie 2.0 x16 in crossfire, or if the gains in performance are not worth the cost, and If my method of processor overclock can be improved. Any input is appreciated.

Donkey, The best advice I can give you to really tweak your system is to take some time and read through this. It really gives you all the info you need to get the most out of your system.

Sounds like you got a pretty good deal, One thing I would note, Don't trust that Raidmax power supply, They are simply not very well built and likely will not even run close to listed specs. That would be the first thing I would look to change out on your system.

The raidmax i took out of my last build when i sold it, and put in the corsair that came with it this build to help sell that rig. This one has been going strong for over a year, but i do need way more power for crossfire. thanks for the link I'll read up on that.
